FAQ
What is Cat Nip & Tuck?
Cat Nip & Tuck is a donation-based low cost spay/neuter program which uses the services of select veterinarians in the Valley.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
The appointment can be as soon as 3 days or up to two weeks or more depending on the clinic and their availability.
What if I miss my appointment?
If you cannot make your appointment, please call the clinic directly and reschedule. Please remind them that you are a Catnip and Tuck client.
Can I bring in a feral cat?
Yes, you may spay/neuter feral cats with these vouchers, however no trapping assistance is available through Cat Nip & Tuck. In keeping with the trap-neuter-return (TNR) guidelines, feral cats are eartipped to identify them as having been altered. Please remind the clinic to ear tip your feral when you take the cat in.
Are vaccinations or proof of vaccinations required?
They are not required either before your appointment or at the time of surgery. They are recommended however and our clinics have very reasonable prices for vaccinations and feline leukemia/AIDs testing should you want that done. Please call the clinic directly for pricing.
What if my cat is in heat or pregnant?
You will be charged an additional fee at the vet clinic for female cats in heat ($10-$15) or pregnant ($10-$80). The extra cost depends on the clinic, and the week of pregnancy.
Can I get my cat declawed at the time of surgery?
No, we do not get involved with declawing appointments at the time of spaying and neutering.
What if it turns out the cat I bring in is already fixed?
If it is readily apparent during the intake exam that the cat is already fixed, you will be refunded your money. Some spay scars are so old and/or small, they can't be seen. If the cat is put under anesthesia, we are charged and your registration fee will not be refunded to you.
